Hi,I’m Diandra, but most people call me Dee. I am a lover of many things, but food is where my heart is. But, not just any food… I mean real food — fresh ingredients from local farmer’s markets, where in-season fruits and veggies are the spotlight and multi-colored eggs with bright orange yolks are the norm. Every person that knows me, knows that I love everything and anything sourdough — bread, pizza, cookies, pastries, you name it. However, the reason I love it is not only for its unique and funky taste. Sourdough unites culture, health, and flavor in the simplest way, which is essentially my ethos — Cook with simplicity.

I grew up in an Italian restaurant, where I was fortunate enough to learn how to cook as early as 2.

Nonna Angela - she let me in on the secrets of “peasant” cuisine. Those dishes that are made up of mostly vegetables and a lot of olive oil; the kind of food that nurtures and warms your soul.

Dad - who helped me see cuisine in a more modern light and has been my creative muse.

Growing up with a dad as an all-Italian restauranteur and a vegan mother is where wellness and tradition blended together for Dee. An open-minded, modern Italian, Dee draws from three-generations of tradition and un-traditionalizes food and social experiences with elements of local and sustainable but also affordable ingredients, Eastern medicine influences, and conscious eating. Drawing from the energy of NYC, vibrance and access to some of the best seasonal ingredients in the world as well as years of recipe development, restaurant experiences, and travel have all led to one conclusion: life is too short not to eat good [for you] food every single day.
